petsDue to a divorce, a death or a long distance move, people sometimes decide they no longer want their pet. Occasionally, they just open their door and release the animal into the wild. Linda Shelley with Panora PETS discourages such behavior and says there’s always an alternative. “Find them a shelter, find them a good home. It’s not fair to them. Animals are not disposable. When you get a pet, they’re yours for the entire life of that pet.”

We’ll wrap up our conversation with Shelley today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County, talking about the challenges summer brings to their facility. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com
