jail planThe Dallas County Board of Supervisors and Sheriff are hoping the third time is a charm when it comes to getting a bond referendum passed in order to build a new law enforcement center.  But what if it’s not?

Sheriff Chad Leonard says at this point, he’s not sure.
“I don’t know if the Board of Supervisors has a plan B for this issue again, they haven’t said if they do.  It was just a couple months ago that they decided the ballot language and put this on the ballot for August 4th.  So the issue is not going to go away and after March 22, 2018 when we lose those additional bunk beds in our jail, that’s approximately 12 more people that will be going over to Polk County. And between now and then I would assume the population in the jail will still be going up.”

We wlll have more with the Sheriff on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on AM 1310 KDLS, the new 99.7 FM and online a RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
