The population of cats is booming this summer in Guthrie County. Linda Shelley with Panora PETS says their shelter and others around the region are being inundated with young kittens and need help in alleviating the rush. “This is to no fault of the cats or the kittens. This is caused by people who do not spay or neuter their cats. All of these shelters suffering from overflow are seeking more foster homes, volunteers and donations to help get these cats adopted.”
PETS offers a low cost spaying and neutering for cats once a week. For more information and to get on their waiting list, call 641-757-9570.
