perry policeThe Perry Police Department is looking for the public’s help to identify those responsible for the gunshots fired in town late Tuesday.

According to Detective Sergeant Jerome Hill, the police department received a call at approximately 11:22pm reporting that three gunshots were heard in the 1000 block of Dewey Street.

A short time later, officers were able to locate shell casings from a small caliber weapon lying in the road in the 1600 block of West 2nd Street.  Additionally, bullet holes were located in the side of a building at 1007 Dewey Street.

The incident remains under investigation.  Anyone with information on who may have fired the shots is asked to call the Perry Crime Stoppers at 465-5661.  As always, Crime Stoppers tips can remain anonymous.
