The Guthrie Center High School baseball team escaped the opening round of the Class 1A District 13 baseball tournament, easily dispatching CAM of Anita by a score of 6-1, in Van Meter Tuesday night. They will now prepare to face conference foe Van Meter in the next round of the playoffs, on Thursday. Van Meter was victorious in the teams’ two regular season meetings, winning 12-4 and 6-0. First pitch in the second round district tournament game scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday night at Van Meter.
