The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a fire at Hy-Vee this evening.
Fire Chief Chris Hinds tells Raccoon Valley Radio the call came in at 8:11pm, stating a frozen foods cooler was on fire in the store. The flames were out when firefighters arrived on scene 11 minutes later. Hinds says they determined the cause was a faulty ballast in the lighting system in the top of the frozen foods showcase.
Fire crews were back in service by 8:31pm.
