Saturday night’s grandstand entertainment is the Professional Pull League (PPL) Western Series Tractor and Truck Pull at the Greene County Fair.

Organizer Dennis Murphy says four competition classes will be featured and they include 8500 Limited Pro Stock, 9500 Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Stock 4×4 Trucks and 9000 Limited Pro Stock Tractors.  There are between 10 to 15 vehicles in each class and some, Murphy points out, can reach speeds of 30 miles-per-hour on the track.

Competitors come from as far as Pennsylvania.  Murphy adds that this year’s tractor and truck pull show will be louder, faster and includes more black smoke to entertain the crowd.  Prairie Brand Seeds in Story City is the sponsor of the event.

Tickets for the show are $10 for general admission and those ten and under are $5 per ticket.

It will begin at 7pm at the grandstand on the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
