There is a little more shade in Wiese Park now, thanks to donations from a local family.

Two trees were planted by City of Perry crews Tuesday.

Kenneth Daniel and Gina Cunningham, along with their daughters Skylar and Eliza, donated a Swamp White Oak in honor of their son, and brother, Kenneth (Declan) Cunningham who passed away December 26th.  Declan’s grandparents John and Theresa Findlay also donated a Horse Chestnut tree in his honor.

The family says they “look forward to watching the trees grow big and strong in honor of our Declan.”

The trees are located on the east side of the park near the gazebo.
