Low income senior citizens in Guthrie County may be eligible to receive vouchers, which can be used to purchase fresh food at area farmers markets. Single seniors with an annual income less than $21,775 and couples with an income less than $29,471 could be eligible to receive Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Value Program vouchers. They can be used to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey. Program Administrator Paul Ovrom says the vouchers are a limited and popular resource and usually go fast. To find out if you are eligible and to sign up, you can call him at 515-242-6239.
