Majority of charges dropped on one of three suspects accused of illegal gaming in Greene County.

According to court documents, 21 year-old Maxwell McGlothlen of Ankeny had all four of his charges from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) dismissed along with misdemeanors for harassment, assault and disorderly conduct from the Greene County Sheriff’s office.  He was found guilty on driving while barred.

The other two suspects, 22 year-old Rheise Presnall from Polk City and 20 year-old Hossein Kolbehdari from Ankeny have pled not guilty to their charges of Class C Felonies for possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, while in possession of a firearm; Class D Felonies for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, while in possession of a firearm; aggravated misdemeanors for possession of Xanax with the intent to deliver, while in possession of a firearm; and serious misdemeanors for assault on a peace officer.

The charges stem from an executed search warrant on November 3, 2014 at a rental residence in the 300 block of C Avenue.  The Sheriff’s office seized $39,559 in property which included a vehicle, drugs and cash.  The DNR recovered $1,840 in illegal wild game.  The search warrants were issued after the alleged suspects were non-compliant with authorities after a complaint was made about possible illegal hunting in the northwest part of the county.

Presnall’s pre-trial hearing is scheduled for June 29th and Kolbehdari’s trial is scheduled for June 23rd.

They each face additional charges from the DNR for illegal poaching of wild game and illegal salvaging of wild animals.  A hearing for those charges is scheduled for July 1st.
