A deputy assisted with transporting a female prisoner from Polk County to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center for an outstanding arrest warrant initiated by the Jefferson Police Department.

Two deputies investigated the report of several youth entering a building in the 200 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. No one was found in the vacant building upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy was dispatched and located the driver of an orange moped that was reported to be driving at a high rate of speed around Grand Junction. The driver was evaluated and advised to slow down to comply with the city speed limits.

A deputy was advised of an abandoned e-911 call that mapped to a residence in the 400 block of Rebecca Street in Grand Junction. It was determined that a child had initiated the call.

Two deputies responded to a two vehicle accident involving a farm tractor and a semi-tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 30 and L Avenue. A John Deere tractor pulling a field cultivator was eastbound on Highway 30 and attempting to turn left onto L Avenue, when a semi-tractor pulling an empty grain trailer attempted to pass the tractor and implement on the left, striking the field cultivator. The John Deere tractor and field cultivator that is owned by Youngblood Farms of rural Jefferson, was being driven by Chester Sargent also of rural Jefferson, sustained several thousand dollars in damage. The semi-tractor trailer that is leased to West Central Cooperative and being driven by Dee Jay Byerly of Scranton was estimated to be a total loss. Charges are pending upon further investigation of the accident.

A deputy responded to capture an injured raccoon in the 900 block of Sandoe Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated criminal mischief to several vehicles in the 100 block of Lovejoy Street in Rippey.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
