Allison TuckerMore charges have been filed against an Illinois woman who allegedly kidnapped two Jefferson toddlers.

Jefferson Police Chief Dave Morlan says 20 year-old Allison Ann Marie Tucker is charged with Class C Felonies for two counts of child stealing and is additionally charged with two aggravated misdemeanors for child endangerment.

Tucker is accused of stealing 2 year-old Rheea Lee Ann Day and 4 year-old Reed Landon Day after they were reported missing around 8:30pm on Sunday.  Tucker is a family-friend who was babysitting the children, and she indicated that she was going to take them to a location in Des Moines.  An Amber Alert was issued by the police department early Monday morning after Tucker didn’t show up at the location and within three hours, all three individuals were found at the Fort Des Moines Hotel in Des Moines.

Morlan notes that they haven’t had to issue an Amber Alert for at least a year.  He points out that there are several criteria that must be met before an alert is issued.  In this case, since Rheea was diagnosed as a severe diabetic, the decision was made by a committee to issue the alert.  The two children were found safe and unharmed, but were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Tucker was booked and remains in the Greene County Jail under a $20,000 bond for the misdemeanor charges.

Morlan adds that the Division of Criminal Investigation is in charge of the investigation.
