Allison TuckerTwo children have been found unharmed after an Amber Alert was issued early Monday.

According to Jefferson Police Chief Dave Morlan, the Amber Alert was issued shortly before 3am after two young children from Jefferson were reported missing.  Roughly two and a half hours later, the alert was cancelled after authorities received information that the suspect, 21 year-old Allison Tucker of Illinois, and the missing children, 4 year-old Reed Landon Day and 2 year-old Rheea Lee Ann Day of Jefferson, were located at the Fort Des Moines Hotel in Des Moines.  The children were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.  Tucker was arrested and charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Prior to the alert being issued, the children we reported missing around 8:30pm Sunday after being left with Tucker Friday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing.  The Jefferson Police Department, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Des Moines Police and other state agencies assisted in the case.
