Greene County Supervisors to Meet Tuesday

The Greene County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday.

The Board is expected to appoint Bruce Chaffee to the Veteran’s Affairs Commission and appoint Mike Wyatt as head custodian.  The Board will hold a public hearing for the 2015 fiscal year budget amendment and approve the changes.  A discussion will also take place with Jack Pedersen about the possibility of the County assisting with a property in Dana.

The Board will also consider drainage district assessments and waiver rates, a contract with The Compliance Group for the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act software and listen to a report from the Thomas Jefferson Gardens.

Then at 11am will be several joint drainage district assessments and waiver rates with surrounding counties.

The meeting will be at 8:30am in the boardroom of the courthouse in Jefferson.

New Support Group at Greene County Medical Center

Care Management Services at Greene County Medical Center are starting a new support group.

The Chronic Disease Support Group is a program that offers a compassionate and caring atmosphere for those suffering from chronic diseases.  Common chronic diseases include arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke.  Interested individuals will be able to create an open discussion of any chronic disease topics.  Along with group discussions, the sessions will also include guest speakers and educational outreach programs.

The sessions will begin on Tuesday, May 26th from 4-5pm in the cardiac management area on Level B of the medical center.  Other sessions are scheduled for July 27th and September 28th.  It is free and open to the public.
