Despite Wednesday’s windy and unseasonably dreary conditions, the faithful lovers of good food still showed up to Stuart’s weekly farmer’s market. Last night’s was the second of the year. The Lawbaugh Park gathering is perfect for anyone who loves to eat. You’ll find fresh produce; from the everyday varieties like onions and tomatoes to things like kale and rhubarb. If you’ve ever wanted to try buckwheat honey, which tastes like molasses and goes great with pancakes, the Stuart farmer’s market is the place to get it. To some, the term ‘farmer’s market’ may evoke vegetarianism, but in Stuart, that’s not the case. Guthrie Center’s Scott Beef Farm is there with beef. And lots of it. They sell everything from ground chuck hamburger patties, to fancy New York strip steak and even specialty brisket. The Stuart farmer’s market takes place each Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 at Lawbaugh Park.
