A single vehicle accident on Willow Ave. northeast of Panora has resulted in charges for the driver. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 11:30 p.m. on May 9th, Adam Pettinger of rural Panora, lost control of his 1999 Mercury Cougar and entered the east ditch of Willow Ave., before striking a culvert and vaulting over 200th St. Pettinger was transported to a Des Moines hospital by Panora EMS. The vehicle and a stop sign owned by Guthrie County Secondary Roads were complete losses in the accident and electrical infrastructure owned by Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative also sustained damage.
As a result of the investigation, Pettinger has been charged with Failure to Maintain a Valid Drivers License, Failure to Wear a Safety Belt and Failure to Maintain Control. Additional charges are pending. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Panora Fire Department, Panora EMS, the Panora Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
