Greene County High School senior Joe Doran began the school year by earning all-state honors in football as a linebacker and helping the Rams make the Class 3A playoffs. He’ll end his sports career at Drake Stadium in Des Moines as part of the Rams’ State Track & Field qualifying Class 3A shuttle hurdle relay unit, along with senior Dylan McConnell, and juniors Tyler Beger and Daric Whipple.

Doran has never run at Drake Stadium, although he’s been in the facility previously. He was asked what he thinks the experience will be like. “You know, I’m interested in finding out what it is going to be like. I’ve been an alternate in the past for the shuttle hurdle, and the 4 x 100 meter relay, so I think it will be way different than any other meet I’ve been in. I’m interested to see how we do.”

The Rams run the prelims of the shuttle hurdle relay on Thursday, May 21 at approximately 2:20 p.m.
