It’s almost time for farmers’ market season in Perry.
Once again, this year’s markets will take place Thursday afternoons at the Perry Marketplace. Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson says this is another opportunity to take advantage of the many goods available locally.
“Take that opportunity to get outside, get some fresh air and come support the local farmers. There’s a nice collection of produce, some baked goods and some crafts as well. We’re going to kind of step it up this year with a couple of volunteers making it more of an event, more of an attraction. So there’s tons of things to do. Thursday night is a great family night. Bring them all down to the farmers’ market and celebrate the amazing produce that we have and the awesome facilities that we are lucky enough to have in Perry.”
Located right along the Raccoon River Valley Trail, Wilson also encourages people to walk or ride to the markets instead of drive, though parking is available in the City parking lot.
The markets take place starting June 11th from 4-7pm at the Marketplace in Caboose Park. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can contact the Chamber at 465-4601.
