The Perry High School track and field teams are getting set for their big day tomorrow when they head to Norwalk for a Class 3A state qualifying track meet.  Perry will be competing against ADM, Bondurant Farrar, Carlisle, Chariton, Dallas Center Grimes, Norwalk and Saydel.  The meet will follow a specific order so it matches the other 7 3A qualifying meets across the state.  The top 2 place finishers in each event will get an automatic ticket to state while the next best 8 performances across the state from the other 3A qualifying meets will advance to the state meet.  The Perry girls have enjoyed success in the 4 x 800 along with strong individual showings from Emma Olejniczak and Johanna Diw in the 400, and Grace Stewart in both long distance races.  Mariah Duffy and Maggie Lowe have also placed high at different times throughout the season.

The Perry boys could have a number of opportunities to get state qualifiers.  Scott James has been dominant in the high jump all season while Keegan Pfau is coming off a conference championship in the 1600 meter run.  Perry will also look to get as many as three relays into state led by the conference champion Medley Relay along with both the 4×800 and 4×400.

All field events across the state will begin at 4:00 with all running events viewed as finals with no preliminaries.  Running events begin at 4:30.  Complete order of events is listed below.
