There’s new leadership for the Greene County Democratic Party.
Earlier this week, an organizational meeting was held in which new officers were elected. Dale Hanaman from Rippey is the new chair, Donna Lawson will continue as treasurer and Chris Henning and Nancy Hanaman will share the secretarial duties.
The Central Committee members were also selected. Representing Jefferson’s First Precinct is Margaret Hamilton, Jefferson’s Second Precinct is Jane Alexander and Donna Lawson and Nick Foster represents Jefferson’s Third Precinct. Vernon Fritz, Rick Liebich and Nancy Hanaman represent the East Precinct, Nicole Freiss-Schilling and Chris Henning represent the Central Precinct and Marcia Tasler represent the North Precinct. Dale Hanaman adds that other people will be invited to join the committee.
Hanaman is excited to be the new chair and believes it is an important way for him to be involved in the political process at a grassroots level. He is planning to have events throughout the rest of the year.
The Greene County Democratic Party will be holding monthly meetings at Prairie Blue in Jefferson on the second Tuesday each month beginning on May 12th. All meetings are open to the public.
