perry logoAs we’ve mentioned, yard waste pickup in Perry starts next week and while this is a free service the City provides to residents, there are things you can do to help make their jobs easier.

Deputy Public Works Director Josh Wuebker says a few simple things can really make the whole town look better.

“Don’t put the yard waste out if it’s going to be 11 days before we’re going to be there because with the wind and everything it’s going to blow, the bags are going to blow over.  Keep it in your garage or wherever and put it out the morning of.  That helps us out a lot.  And if you see anything in the streets, or on the curb line or something like that, pick that up.  It helps us out a lot and makes the town look a lot cleaner and I think it’s just better.”

Wuebker says the City crews take care of about 66 lane miles, which is a lot of road and they don’t travel every portion, every day so little things residents can do to help can make a big difference.

Wednesday, April 1st starts the season with a city-wide pickup.  After that, it alternates each week between areas north and south of Willis Avenue.
