Tornado sirens are great indicators of severe weather, if it’s an actual tornado headed your way and you’re outside. But the outdoor warning systems are not designed to be heard indoors.
So how can you know if severe weather is coming your way when you’re at work, school or inside your home? By tuning into the Raccoon Valley Radio network’s Severe Weather Action Team coverage.
As we’ve mentioned, anytime there is a severe storm warning in any portion of Dallas, Greene or Guthrie counties we throw out all regular programming to provide you with wall-to-wall, up to the minute weather coverage. We use the Emergency Alert System to get updates from the National Weather Service. We’re in contact with trained meteorologists from several different agencies, along with our local officials. We even have backup generators in place, so when the power goes out, we stay on to bring you all the updates you need to know.
Storms can happen at any time of the day, so our staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help get information out to our listeners when severe weather threatens our area.
As always you can tune in to the Raccoon Valley Radio network on-air on AM 1310 KDLS, FM 98.9 KGRA and FM 107.9 KKRF or stream us online from your computer or smart phone via RaccoonValleyRadio.com or our mobile applications.
The Raccoon Valley Radio Network is the one to count on for up to the minute weather information.
