Several government agencies have teamed up to organize a presentation on the Emerald Ash Borer and other tree-harming pests this morning in Panora. Iowa State Extension Entomologist Mark Shour will be the presenter and says the program centers around the importance of trees in an ecosystem. “Basically talking about the benefit of trees and how trees are important for a community to maintain water runoff, and utility costs and how there needs to be a diversity of trees in an urban canopy so that a town does well.”
The event is open to the public and will take place at 9 a.m. at Panora City Hall.
