The first year of the Corey Schneider era at ADM high school is officially in the books. The Tigers girls basketball coach lead his squad to a 10-13 record overall, and a 6-8 record in conference play, good for sixth in the Raccoon River Conference.

It was a year of adjustments both for Schneider and his players. Looking back on the season, the former Woodward-Granger girls basketball head coach said despite a bumpy start, he thought his girls adjusted well to his preferred style of play.

“I’d say it went pretty well. I think that everybody knew at the beginning there would be some changes in philosophy that might take a little bit of time to implement, and it did take a little bit of time,” Schneider said. “But I think as the year progressed, I think the girls bought in very well and were definitely willing to listen and try to implement everything we were doing, and so I think you saw in the second half of the year things started to go a lot more smoothly than in the first half.”

The main challenge for ADM was executing Schneider’s motion offense, and that was evident throughout the year, but particularly in the beginning of the year. ‘

After starting the year 3-2, the Tigers endured a season-worst six-game losing streak. Over the first four games of that stretch, they averaged just 30 points per game and dropped to 3-8. ADM went 7-5 the rest of the way, however, averaging 50.5 points per game in that span.
