Friday, February 13th

A deputy was advised of a missing black Labrador from a residence in the 900 block of 190th street. The owner later called the Law Enforcement Center informing the deputy that the dog was found.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff and K-9 Leo assisted the Jefferson Police Department with the search of a vehicle on Highway 30 near M Avenue. A female was arrested by the police officer at that time.

A deputy and an Iowa State Patrol Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported to be an erratic and careless driver. The driver’s mental state was evaluated and allowed to drive to Jefferson with the trooper and deputy following.

A deputy was advised of cattle on the roadway at 180th Street and Jordan Avenue.  The deputy placed the cattle back into the fenced area.

A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle accident that occurred in the 2200 block of Neola Avenue. A 2002 Honda CRV that was being driven southbound on Neola Avenue by Megan Marie Smith 31, of Bagley, Iowa, failed to slow for a pickup pulling a trailer that was attempting to turn into the driveway at 2272 Neola Avenue. The pickup, a 2008 Chevrolet that was driven by Dennis Dale Stucky 33, of Fort Dodge, had slowed and was attempting to make a right turn when he was struck from behind by the Smith vehicle. No injuries were reported and damage to both units was estimated to be $2000.

A deputy was advised of an alarm activation at the People Trust and Savings Bank in Rippey. The deputy and the key holder searched the building and found everything to be secure.

Saturday, February 14th

A deputy was advised of an alarm activation at the Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Grand Junction. A key holder for the bank had already determined the bank to be secure upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy assisted several Jefferson Police Officers, during a burglary investigation, with transporting a male subject to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center.

A deputy assisted the Greene County Emergency Medical Services with a medical call in the 500 block of Main Street in Scranton.

Sunday, February 15th

A deputy transported a female inmate from the Greene County jail to the Boone County jail.

A deputy was dispatched for the report of a car throwing trash onto Highway 30 near the Carroll County – Greene County line. An Iowa State Patrol Officer and a Carroll County Deputy Sheriff located the vehicle in Ralston and questioned the driver.

A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of South 7th Street in Grand junction to help mediate a verbal domestic altercation. No further action was needed as the two females agreed to stay away from each other.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
