Funeral services for Gary Swanson, 74, of Dawson will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 20 at First United Methodist Church in Perry. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Thursday,  with family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Swanson of Dawson; mother, Miriam Swanson of Adel; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Noring and Denise Rachele Mitchell, both of Perry; son, Garry Dan Swanson of Winterset; sisters, Sharon Spring of Des Moines and Donna Simpson of Adel; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
