The Greene County boys’ basketball team finishes its regular season tonight and the girls’ basketball team and wrestlers will have postseason competition tomorrow. The Rams are 6-13 in boys’ hoops and have dropped seven straight games, and they play one of the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference’s top teams on the road tonight. Coach Jeramie Hinote’s team faces PCM in Monroe in a JV/varsity doubleheader with coverage of the varsity game on KG98 set for 7:15 p.m. The Mustangs are 16-4 overall and a win clinches no worse than a first place tie for the league title. Both teams end their regular seasons tonight.

Greene County sends its girls’ basketball team to Stuart tomorrow night to open Class 3A Region 8 action vs. West Central Valley. The Rams are 8-13 and the Wildcats are 10-11. Coverage on KG98 starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with tip off at 7 p.m.

Tomorrow at noon the four Greene County wrestlers that have qualified for Class 2A district competition will be in District 8 action at Webster City. There are four wrestlers in each weight class and the top two from all 14 weights advance to the Feb. 19-21 State Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Qualifying as Sectional champions for the Rams are seniors Abe Yoder (132) and Jordan Challen (138), along with junior Tommy Bradshaw (145). Sophomore Hunter Ruth (195) qualified as a Sectional runner-up.
