The Perry Jayette basketball team will look to return to their mid season form tonight when they host a struggling Bondurant Farrar program. The Jayettes have lost 2 in a row including Friday night’s matchup in Winterset. Perry is expected to once again be without guard Grace Marburger who continues to recover from the flu. Perry is down to their final 2 regular season games before the 4A Regional semi-final on Saturday, February 21st.
“Even with out Grace, we should have enough good players and step up and continue to play good defense,” added veteran Coach Mike Long. “We would like to have Grace in there but our other kids need to step and play now. We can’t use that as an excuse.”
The Jayettes have surrendered a lot of points over the last 2 games with both Winterset and ADM scoring well above their season averages. Perry will look to improve their defensive pressure against a Bondurant team that is 4-15 on the season and averaging only 41 points per game.
Seniors Claire Marburger, Maggie Lowe, Amy Marckres and Erica Tenold will be honored in between games. Tip off is at six at the Perry Sports Pavilion.
