The Greene County School District has missed two school days so far this year.
Superintendent Tim Christensen says one of those two days will be added to the end of the school year, making the last day on Friday, May 22nd. The second missed school day was last week during the winter storm. Christensen points out that because the district is on an “hours” system instead of a “days” system, he has a couple of different options to make up the second missed day.
The plan is to make up those hours by going to school a full day for a couple of Wednesdays near the end of the school year and not have students dismiss early for professional development. However, that plan may change if there are any more missed days. Christensen notes that if there are any more missed days, then those will be added onto the end of school year. Currently, the school year is scheduled to end before Memorial Day weekend.
