jeffersonWe are getting ever closer to the 36th Annual Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson.

This year’s event is scheduled for June 12th and 13th.  A planning committee has been meeting since October when a circus-related theme was decided.  “Bell Tower: Top Big” will feature various circus activities and events, including a ferris wheel.  Greene County Chamber Director Chris Henning describes some of the other possible ideas the committee is currently discussing at their meetings.

“Clay Ross is taking care of some of the plaza stage things and we’ve got a magician lined up.  They’re talking to jugglers and Angie Pederson found us a ferris wheel.  There’s talk about fancy bands on Saturday night and karaoke on Friday night, all sorts of things.”

Fitting in with the theme, Henning points out that they are still looking for “ringmasters” to head up other committees like the art show and the barbecue meal.  Organizations are invited to run a booth and other carnival games as suggested fundraisers.

The next planning meeting will be tonight at the Chamber office in Jefferson at 5:30pm.
