A special night is on tap for the ADM girls and boys basketball teams, which host the Boone Toreadors Friday night for a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader that is also senior night for the Tigers.

On the girls side, ADM will say goodbye to four seniors: Kenzi Sutton, Jenny Wicks, Emily Hofmann and Erica Baier. Aside from all the festivities, the Tigers, fresh off their upset of the No. 7 Perry Jayettes on Tuesday, will look to salvage a season split with Boone (11-7, 5-6 RRC).

Back in early January, the Tigers (8-10, 5-6 RRC) lost on the road to the Toreadors 44-31 in what was game four of their six-game losing streak. In that game, ADM shot just 30 percent, while the Tigers at times struggled to contain Boone’s six-foot post players, seniors Serena Sandvig and Mariah McPartland, who combined for 22 points.

But the Tigers are a different team now, having won five of their last seven games while averaging 52 points per game over their last nine contests.

In the boys game, ADM will honor seniors Joe Sloss, Jake Sloss, Jonny Reel, Kyle Ferguson, Elijah McCartney, Kody Irwin, Devon Lord and Sam Kornstad. The Tigers (3-14, 3-8 RRC) will be going for the season sweep, having pulled off a 51-49 overtime win over the Toreadors in Boone, courtesy of a Jacob Hardy game-winning block.

With a win Friday night, the Tigers would jump ahead of Boone (5-11, 4-7 RRC) for sixth place in the standings via tiebreaker. Both teams are hungry for a win, having struggled since their first matchup. In that span, ADM is 1-7, while the Toreadors are 2-5.

Pregame coverage on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com begins at 5:45 p.m., with the girls to tip at 6 and the boys game to follow at K107.
