Jefferson Matters: Main Street is looking for a new program director.
Alan Robinson, a Grand Junction resident, has been the director since 2012. He recently submitted his resignation to the JMMS Board due to family illness.
Board President Jamie Daubendiek says they are putting together a hiring committee to review the job responsibilities of the position. With some guidance from Robinson, Daubendiek believes they will be ready to advertise for it later this month.
He talks about Robinson’s impact as the organization’s only program director.
“He’s been a great asset for us. He really helped get the organization (JMMS) off the ground and a lot of the backend stuff that a lot of the public didn’t see but took a lot of effort with him and also a lot of the volunteers to really get the program up and going. He will be missed, but we will continue to move forward with our great volunteers that we have.”
Daubendiek hopes to have the position filled by the end of February because there is new member training that starts next month.
