As much as ten inches of snow could cover the region, as the Raccoon River Valley remains under a Winter Storm Warning for the next twenty-four hours.

Roads are dangerously slick, and travel is not advised unless necessary. If you have to hit the road, Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright says it’s important to have the essentials in case you do go off the road. “If there is an occasion
where you end up in the ditch, you have to do inventory to see what’s in your car. Make sure you have a shovel, blanket, snacks a battery cable, a full tank of gas.”
