Guthrie and Adair County’s Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf says sponsorship levels in 2015 are currently a hair lower than 2014, but he’s still confident that they’ll raise as much or more money than last year. Kempf says the sponsorship program allows for various levels of support, and is important for funding some emergency management programs. “We actually have four different levels in the program, according to their monetary support. There’s bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels. We had several sponsors last year that participated, and we use the money to support the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Notification System, and to pay for HAZMAT contracts, so that our local responders have experience with hazardous materials, and their responses to those.”
