Several students from Greene County will compete in next month’s Iowa High School State Large Group Speech Contest.
Last weekend was the district contest and Greene County High School qualified four events and Paton-Churdan qualified one event.
GCHS qualified group mime, group improvisation, radio broadcast and short film and P-C qualified in short film. Each event received a superior I-rating to move on to the state competition.
GCHS seniors Dan Neal and Parker Willis made it to All-State in radio broadcast last year and will return for another opportunity next month in the same category. Other state returning qualifiers for GCHS includes Victoria Sims, Aly Matthews, Cecilia Blasnitz and Danielle Johnson.
Other GCHS students that will compete are Shannon Brown, David Peterson, Jordan King, Faith Hanson, Brittany Richardson, Jack Schilling, Gabe Jensen, Zach Dane, Reid Lamoureux and Alex Rassmussen.
The P-C students that are in short film are Garion Consier, Jacob Bundt, Robin Consier, Nohea Missweit, Autumn Johnston, Kristen Lefebvre, and Devin Burgart.
Both school will be at West Des Moines Valley on Saturday, February 7th.
