The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met with County Sanitarian Steve Patterson yesterday morning to talk about his department’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2015/16. Much of the conversation centered around the fact that in addition to the services to Guthrie County, Patterson’s department provides well and sewer maintenance services to Cass, Audubon and Adair Counties at a fee of 110% of the cost and labor of the project. Additionally, those Counties are charged the federal rate of fifty-six cents per mile, if travel is required to complete a project. The Supervisors discussed whether the profit margin should be raised to 115%, up from 110%, but any decision on that would likely wait until next year.
