Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties has announced a new addition to its organization.
Executive Director Erich Kretzinger says they’ve added Guthrie County and have changed their official name to Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity. He states that the new affiliate has qualified as a member of the National organization and they hope to recruit volunteers and start repairing homes later this year with the Helping Hands program.
Kretzinger points out a few new improvements to the local organization. With the expansion of services, there will continue to be a central board of directors and there will also be a separate board of directors for each county. The responsibilities for the county boards will be to coordinate and direct projects in their counties.
New Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux will be primarily responsible for directing the Guthrie County affiliate and oversee projects in Greene County. He will have an office soon located in Jefferson.
Jefferson resident, Harry Ahrenholtz will serve as president of the Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity, Angie Jewett from Grand Junction is vice-president, Carla Werre of Madrid is secretary and Randy Purdy of Boone is treasurer.
