At Pink Nights all around Guthrie County this year, there has been intense basketball action on the floor, but the more important battle is recognized in the stands, when survivors of cancer are asked to stand to be recognized, followed by the emcee asking those who have lost a loved one to cancer to stand as well; when nearly everybody in the room is standing, it’s a clear view of how far reaching and encompassing the horrors of cancer are.

West Central Valley is having their Pink Night tonight as they host Guthrie Center, and district activity director Tod Broman has the lowdown on what events will be taking place, “We’re gonna be having our pink night for the basketball game. The girls will be wearing pink uniforms, and we’ll be raising money for the Relay For Life, and also having a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where people can pledge money for each three point shot made.”

Tip off for the girls will be at six o clock this evening at West Central Valley high school in Stuart.
