The Guthrie Center boys varsity basketball had their highest scoring game of the season Friday night at Ogden, but it wasn’t enough to take home the win, as they were defeated 63 to 85. Junior Sam Courtney had a double-double in the losing effort for Guthrie Center, scoring 23 points and grabbing 13 rebounds; notably senior Jared Berger has 18 points himself. The 1-11 Guthrie Center boys will play again on Tuesday night as they head to Stuart for their second contest of the season against in-county conference foe West Central Valley; the West Central Valley varsity boys are 2-1o on the season.
