The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a retreat Thursday as one of the key steps in their restructuring plans this year.
Executive Director Bob Wilson says it was a productive day of goal setting.
“We did a few exercises, one was a SWOT analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the whole chamber and basically I think we all agree that we have the same basic idea that we need to get a little more focused” says Wilson. “Sometimes the Chamber is so spread thing because we do everything, we say yes, we’ll do this and a lot of the stuff we do people don’t realize we do, or maybe we don’t do a good enough job of telling people this is what we do and how and why we do it. That’s the focus of 2015 for the chamber. It was nice to come out of it with some goals that aren’t going to be extremely noticeable but they will be overall.”
Some of the Chamber’s focuses will be amending bylaws, setting a strategic plan and budget, finding additional revenue sources, visiting Chamber members and reaching out to the Latino population more.
