The first action of 2015 for the Greene County wrestling team resulted in a third place finish and two individual champions at the Panther Invite in Creston. The round-robin event saw Creston/Orient-Macksburg win the team title with 255 points. Dallas Center-Grimes was second at 150 with the Rams at 135.5, Bedford/Lenox 124.5, Mt. Ayr 90, and East Union (Afton) 74.

The two Rams who went unbeaten on the day were senior Jordan Challen (138) and junior Tommy Bradshaw (145). Both are ranked sixth in Class 2A by The Predicament. Challen won three matches by fall before edging second place Wyatt Thompson of COM, 3-2, to improve to 18-1 on the season. Bradshaw went 5-0 with his closest match via 11-3 major decision. He also had two falls, and two technical falls, including a 17-0 TF over second place Joey Huntington of COM. Bradshaw is now 16-2.

Second place finishers for Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams were Kane Borgeson (106), Isaiah Yoder (160), and Hunter Ruth (195). Abe Yoder (132), Keyden Pollock (170), and Mark Kendall (182) each placed third, as eight of the nine Rams entered in the event finished third or higher.
