The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees recently approved its 2014 fiscal year audit at their monthly meeting last week.
Auditing firm Edie Bailly conducted the audit. The medical center’s 2014 fiscal year ran from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.
The hospital’s assets saw a drop from the 2013 to the 2014 fiscal year. 2013’s figures were at $7,177,000 and in 2014, it was at $6,100,000. So, the medical center had an overall decrease of $446,000. The drop was mostly due to the building expansion project, parking lot improvements and the transition to EPIC, the electronic medical records system.
The long-term debt was at a $1,2 million increase with the total debt at $1,625,000 with some major equipment purchases taking place last fiscal year. The medical center had an overall operating loss of $3,578,000 which was a slight increase from the 2013 fiscal year when the operating loss was at $3,291,000. Salaries were down 2.1% whereas supplies went up 13.9%. The hospital wrote off $238,000 in charity care.
However, due to county taxes of $1.6 million and a $2.2 million Foundation transfer, the overall end figure was a positive $485,000.
