The ADM boys basketball team participated in a Varsity Jamboree last night, and came a way with an exhibition victory over host Woodward-Granger, 32-28.

The Tigers played two, 8-minute quarters, outscoring the Hawks 15-10 in the first. Head coach Aaron Mager said he was particularly pleased that his team went 12-of-14 from the free throw line while not sending Woodward-Granger to the stripe one time in the quarter.

Senior Kyle Ferguson lead the way with 8 points, sophomore Larry Larsen had 6, junior Jacob Hardy had 5, Jake Sloss and Johnny Reel each had 4, Sam & Elijah McCartney each had 2, while junior Frank Weiland had 1 point, on a free-throw with less than 10 seconds to go that accounted for the final four-point margin of victory. Joe Sloss and Ian LaFollete also played but did not score.

Mager said he’d like to see his team communicate better on the defensive side of the ball after allowing six made 3’s by Woodward-Granger, which he said comes down to making a stronger contest. He said he also wants his players to execute more consistently on both ends of the floor.
