greene county medical center logoAt their meeting earlier this month, the Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees voted to make an enhancement to their logo.

The main logo will remain the same, but at the bottom, it will include the words “An Affiliate of UnityPoint Health”.  The Board first started the discussion during their spring retreat this year.  Board Chair Jim Schleisman is proud that they made the enhancement because it shows that they are committed to continue to provide healthcare for years to come with their continued partnership with UnityPoint Health.

Several rural hospitals like Guthrie County Hospital and Clarke County Hospital have made similar transitions with their logos.  It is a way to strengthen services that are provided and take advantage of system-wide resources while maintaining local control which chief executive officer Carl Behne says they will remain to be that local entity.

“Continue to be that local owned and operated healthcare entity for our community.  And so this is just a way to continue to show that, that we are Greene County Medical Center, we committed to serving our community and we’re about our community and we have that decision-making authority because we are who we are, but we choose partners that align with our values and vision for the future.”

UnityPoint Health is the 13th largest nonprofit health system in the country with 17 hospitals and 280 clinic locations throughout Iowa, southern Wisconsin and western Illinois.  15 rural hospitals, including Greene County Medical Center, have affiliated themselves with UnityPoint Health.
