Dozens of families in the Perry area have been able to enjoy a family meal together and receive gifts they may not have had otherwise thanks to the Shop with a Cop program.

Detective Sergeant Jerome Hill says while the program started with just police officers it has since grown into a much larger program where they enlist the help of firefighters, ambulance staff, dispatchers and community members.

Hill says what he loves about Shop with a Cop is the fact that it’s a collaborative effort from across the community.  He says community members and businesses donate money, stores offer discounts or donate food.
