According to the most recent DNR harvest numbers, updated Tuesday morning, the average county in Iowa has yielded 205 deer so far this season. Guthrie County is once again proving itself as one of the best hunting counties in Iowa, and possibly the best landlocked county in Iowa, with a yield of 457 deer so far, this season. There have been approximately 25% more does than antlered bucks taken in Guthrie, an unusual anomaly considering that far more bucks than does have been taken State-wide.
