The annual Greene County High School football awards night and potluck supper has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10. Starting time is 6:30 p.m. in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Ram head football coach Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio that players and their families, plus members of the public are welcome to attend. Those attending should bring potluck items. Letters and other awards will be presented at the event.

Greene County went 4-6 during the recently completed season, but they were 4-2 in District 2 of Class 3A. Four of the losses were to teams advancing to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. Greene County lost 12-6 to South Central Calhoun (Lake City), a Class 1A quarterfinalist, and three of the losses were to Class 3A teams in Friday’s quarterfinals. The Rams lost 14-0 to Carroll and dropped two games to Creston/Orient-Macksburg; 23-7 in the regular season, and 31-7 on Oct. 29 in the opening round of the playoffs.
