A golf cart was destroyed and part of a house was damaged from a fire in Jefferson this past weekend.
Police Chief Dave Morlan says at 3:38pm on Saturday, November 1st, police officers and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to a call about a golf cart on fire at 108 East Central Avenue #7.
Morlan states officers spotted a large black cloud of smoke when they arrived on scene. Once the flames were extinguished, Morlan notes that the golf cart was reported to be a total loss and valued at $9,000 while the heat from the fire caused damage to the front of the home of Jerry Wolterman with siding and a melted yard light. The estimated damage done to the home was $3,500.
No one was hurt in the incident and the probable cause for the fire may be electrical-related on the golf cart.
