Four time defending state champion Iowa City Regina defeated Panorama 57-13 in Class 1A Second Round football action Monday night in Iowa City. The Regals took advantage of 3 Panther turnovers in jumping out to a 51-0 second quarter lead with 4 minutes to go until halftime. The game was played with a continuous clock in the entire second half. Iowa Hawkeye signee Drew Cook went 8-11 for 203 yards and 1 td while North Dakota State recruit Jake Brinkman carried the ball 11 times for 83 yards and 3 first half touchdown runs.
Panorama scored twice in the second half with Luke Webner grinding out a touchdown run and Gavin Richey hit younger brother Gabe for a long scoring strike late. The Panthers finish the season 7-4 and lose 9 seniors while Regina improves to 10-1 and will host Central Decatur Friday night.
