In addition to choosing who will represent us in office, Dallas County voters will also be voice their opinion on two bond referendums for new county facilities.

The two issues are as follows:

“Shall the County of Dallas, State of Iowa, issue its General Obligation Bonds in an amount not exceeding the amount of $16,300,000 for the purpose of designing, constructing, erecting, equipping, and furnishing new Sheriff’s Office – Law Enforcement Center, with related site improvements?”

and

“Shall the County of Dallas, State of Iowa, issue its General Obligation Bonds in an amount not exceeding the amount of $11,800,000 for the purpose of acquiring land for, and designing, constructing, erecting, equipping and furnishing a new County Administration Facility, with demolition and related site improvements?”

County officials say if both bond issues pass, based on $200,000 worth of property valuation, with the roll back considered residents would see a $46 per year tax increase.
